To kick things off, let me share that I am a Software Engineer in Test, commonly known as QA. For over seven years, I've focused on testing mobile applications and creating automated tests.
In today's video, I want to discuss the pivotal decision I made when I first ventured into the world of Blockchain. Stick around until the end, as I have an important revelation to share.
Now, you might wonder, how did I find myself delving into Blockchain? Was it via Bitcoin, trading, or some form of crypto investment? Surprisingly, none of that! In fact, prior to my work in Web3 Security, I had no interest in or knowledge of cryptocurrency. I even learned the term "Blockchain" for the first time during a conversation with a close friend.
The story goes that I was catching up with a friend who was teaching a Blockchain course, and she was brimming with enthusiasm. You know those moments when you nod along without truly grasping the subject? That was me during our chat.
Despite my initial confusion, I chose to be inquisitive and ask questions about Blockchain, which ultimately piqued my interest.
So, moving past the formalities, once you realize you want to learn about Blockchain, how do you actually get started?
Section 1.1: Finding Reliable Blockchain Resources
Based on my experience, YouTube is one of the best platforms to discover and consume Blockchain content. Surprisingly, Twitter, a platform often criticized for negativity, is also home to a thriving community of Blockchain enthusiasts who actively share insights and resources, both through tweets and links to articles.
After spending some time watching videos and following various Twitter accounts, I quickly became overwhelmed by the noise in my feeds. So, how did I address this issue?
Subsection 1.1.1: Organizing Your Learning Environment
To tackle the clutter, I created a separate Twitter account dedicated solely to Blockchain-related content. I did the same with YouTube, establishing a new account focused exclusively on Blockchain videos. This strategy significantly minimized distractions and helped me concentrate on the topics that truly interested me.
