The Ultimate Accessory Guide for Your 24-Inch iMac Setup

Chapter 1: Setting Up Your 24-Inch iMac
I've successfully relocated my 24-inch iMac to my studio, where it has been serving me well over the past few months, even in the kitchen! Apple has truly outdone themselves with this model. While many were hoping for a larger version, the M1-equipped 24-inch iMac strikes an ideal balance of performance, aesthetics, and that stunning Retina display.
This iMac is just the right size and capability for my needs, and it seamlessly integrates into my workflow. However, its functionality can be significantly enhanced with the right accessories. Today, I’ll share six essential accessories that I believe will pique your interest.
Section 1.1: Satechi USB-C Slim Dock for iMac
As someone who values USB-C docks, I was thrilled to find the Satechi Slim Dock, specifically crafted for the 24-inch iMac.
This dock fits perfectly over the iMac's base, resembling an elegant extension of the computer. Once connected via the included USB-C cable, it offers easy access to a 10 Gbps USB-C data port, two USB-A ports, and both micro SD and standard SD card readers.
Moreover, it features a cleverly designed compartment for an NVME SATA SSD, allowing for easy storage upgrades without the need for tools. This dock supports high-speed m.2 SSDs up to 10Gbps, saving you from paying Apple's high prices for additional local storage. Although it retails for around £130, its design and convenience make it a worthwhile investment.
Section 1.2: Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Wireless Mouse
I decided to try the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S as a compact mouse that wouldn't clutter my desk and could easily travel with me.
Although it's an older model, I snagged it for just £30 on Amazon instead of the £90 for the latest version. This travel mouse doubles as an excellent desktop option for those with limited space, and it's significantly better than Apple's Magic Mouse.
With numerous customizable buttons and quick Bluetooth switching, it fits well into my workflow. The only downside is that it charges via micro USB, which seems outdated, but the long battery life makes up for it.

Section 2.1: IQUNIX F96 Mechanical Keyboard
When it comes to mechanical keyboards, the IQUNIX F96 is my top choice.
Though not the cheapest at around $250 for the wireless, backlit version with RGB lighting, its build quality is exceptional. I particularly enjoy typing on the Cherry Brown switches, which provide a satisfying feel and sound.
Section 2.2: iPad Mini and Benks Infinity Stand
While it may seem unconventional, the iPad Mini is an indispensable part of my setup.
Thanks to the Benks Infinity stand, my iPad Mini easily integrates with my iMac, serving as my note-taking device and a handy reference tool.
Section 2.3: Kanto YU2 Speakers (and Sub)
The built-in speakers of the 24-inch iMac are decent, but for those who value quality audio, the Kanto YU2 powered speakers are a fantastic addition.
When paired with the Sub 8, they deliver an impressive sound experience that enriches my daily music listening.
Section 2.4: Satechi Deskmate
Lastly, I have been using the Satechi eco-leather Deskmate for some time now.
While it could be larger, it provides an excellent surface for my IQUNIX keyboard and Logitech mouse, enhancing both aesthetics and comfort.
