Section 1.1: A Night to Remember

I won’t sugarcoat it; I was drawn to this guy. It had been ages since anyone stirred such feelings in me. After indulging in too many drinks, we ended up in his car. What began as an innocent hug quickly escalated into him nibbling on my ear and leaving a mark on my neck. His approach was overly aggressive—not in a slow, romantic manner but more like a ravenous wolf. While it was somewhat thrilling to see his eagerness, the setting—a cluttered car—made it difficult to fully enjoy the moment.

The disarray around us, with trash littering the floor and console, turned what should have been an intimate encounter into one of my most embarrassing experiences. The backseat was a complete disaster, filled with a hefty bag of empty bottles that I initially assumed were for recycling. Instead, it was just refuse he neglected to discard.

I asked him to tidy up, and he promised he would. However, when we met again, nothing had changed. Hesitant but willing, I climbed in. After treating him to dinner, we parked outside his grandmother's house so he could retrieve some clothes from the dryer. As we relaxed, he tried to make a move.

Me: "I can’t do this. You may be able to take things further, but this mess is a total mood killer."

Him: "I know, I’ve just been busy, but I’ll get to it."

Me: "No, I mean right now! Clean up this disgusting mess!"

To my surprise, he grabbed a bag and began to tidy up the dashboard and console. I even stepped out so he could clean my side and urged him to check under the seats and inside the doors.

What a situation! I once fantasized about being with him, but in that moment, it became clear that would never happen. If he could neglect his car to this extent, I could only imagine how chaotic his home must be. He was definitely not going to know where I lived.

What was intended as a simple hug morphed into him being overly forward, pushing me against the car in plain sight. His hands roamed freely, revealing his lack of self-control. I remembered him mentioning he had a tendency towards exhibitionism, but this was pushing it too far. Once I returned home, I texted him to express my feelings about his behavior and subsequently blocked him.

In reflecting on this experience, I questioned why he felt comfortable exposing such a messy side of himself to me. The answer was simple: I was merely a person he wanted to sleep with.
