Chapter 1: The Journey Through My Drafts

On a bright spring morning, I decided to revisit my old drafts. Starting from the bottom of my Medium list, I spent over four and a half hours working my way up, which left me feeling completely drained. However, this endeavor wasn't without its rewards; I unearthed valuable lessons that I am eager to share.

As I sifted through my drafts, I encountered pieces that felt completely alien to me. They weren't reflective of my own ideas, and I quickly realized that my attempts to salvage them were futile. If they had been successful, they wouldn’t have languished in the draft folder. Interestingly, I noticed recurring themes in my writing. Once I expressed those thoughts, my inclination to write about them diminished. My more recent work began to reveal two clear interests: self-improvement and writing, and I embraced my lively personality, infusing it into my articles.

Section 1.1: The Importance of Captivating Headlines

Headlines are crucial; they entice readers to click and delve deeper! Unfortunately, many of my earlier titles lacked that sparkle. While I understand that first drafts don’t need to have a perfect title, they should at least offer a starting point.

Despite having strong content, some of these articles were stagnating. The act of writing extensively has taught me to convey my points succinctly to maintain the reader's attention. I had solid ideas, but their execution was lacking. Now, I can take the same concepts and present them in a fresh narrative with different phrasing.

Visually, my earlier pieces were cumbersome. They were overly verbose and filled with unnecessary fluff—thanks to Grammarly for improving my skills! They weren’t just lengthy; they also lacked spacing between sentences, making them tedious to read, even if the subject matter was intriguing. Additionally, I rarely utilized bold or italic formatting, included few quotes, and the overall structure was far from engaging.
