# The $10,000 Monthly Medium Writing Challenge: Are You Bold Enough?

Written on

Chapter 1: The Vision of $10,000 a Month

Have you ever considered what an additional $10,000 monthly could mean for your life? Would it inspire you to leave your job for a life of leisure in beautiful locales like Bali or Costa Rica? Perhaps you'd devote your time to cherished activities such as reading and volunteering.

If it were up to me, I wouldn’t make drastic changes. I’d persist in cultivating my content business and aim to transform that $10,000 into $50,000. My lifestyle wouldn't shift significantly, but the financial relief would be immense, allowing me to let go of monetary worries and enjoy a priceless sense of tranquility.

Yet, let's set aside my aspirations. You’re here to embark on a shared journey towards that $10,000 a month milestone. I want you to know that I am undertaking this challenge alongside you. Although I began my journey in May 2021 unknowingly, my best earnings on Medium to date are only $950. However, if I can reach $950, I believe $10,000 is within reach.

Chapter 2: Embracing the Challenge

The goal is to achieve an average of $10,000 a month through writing and blogging. While Medium serves as the primary platform, feel free to explore other avenues as well. The core rule is simple: write and publish daily on Medium without any breaks or excuses until you reach your goal. This consistent practice will help you craft engaging stories that resonate with readers and encourage sharing.

As you gain a deeper understanding of the process, you can leverage this method to grow an audience across various platforms and eventually monetize it through your own products and writings. The possibilities are limitless; there’s always a demand for well-organized, useful content. If you're earning $5,000 on Medium and another $5,000 elsewhere, that counts too, but daily publishing on Medium remains essential.

Remember, nothing can prevent you from achieving this unless you let it. There’s no deadline—just keep pushing forward until you succeed.

Section 2.1: The Importance of Daily Writing

For many, a daily routine is the only way to build a sustainable writing practice—brick by brick. It's too easy for a single day off to snowball into a week or a month without writing. Last May, I committed to writing and publishing on Medium every day for 90 days. I didn’t expect to complete it, and it was incredibly challenging, but I managed to stick with it.

Even through illness or tough days, I turned to Medium and produced articles that may not have made sense at the time, but they were completed. If I had set a goal of publishing four or five times a week, I likely wouldn’t have developed this writing habit. Despite not considering myself a great writer and facing many unsuccessful articles, my determination and patience have kept me going.

I am prepared to invest years into fulfilling this challenge. Whether it takes five years or more, I’m committed. There are others out there who are just as determined to say, "Challenge accepted," and reach that goal.

Section 2.2: Words of Encouragement

To conclude, I leave you with an inspiring quote from Bryan Clark, which captures the essence of this solitary yet exhilarating challenge:

“Write more. Write even more. Write even more than that. Write when you don’t want to. Write when you do. Write when you have something to say. Write when you don’t. Write every day. Keep writing.” — Bryan Clark
