Innovative Email Applications to Enhance Your Inbox Experience
Written on
When it comes to organizing your email, there are numerous strategies to consider. For a long time, I relied on traditional methods by using Apple Mail and Gmail's web interface without any effective management tactics.
I decided to try Spark when I needed to monitor multiple email accounts for business. I preferred not to see them all at once, but I wanted easy access when necessary. This is where using different email applications can be beneficial if utilized correctly, as many offer similar functionalities.
Here are some key questions to ponder when selecting the email application that fits your needs: 1. Are you looking for an app designed for collaboration, tailored for teams? 2. Do you prefer to process your emails in batches to expedite the process? 3. Is security your utmost concern? 4. Would you rather use a conventional email client or one that redefines email? 5. Are you using your existing email account, or do you need a new address?
I'd love to hear which email client you’re currently using and if these questions helped you. Personally, I am using Spark.
If you’re seeking an entirely new email platform and are tired of the usual options like Apple, Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo, consider these two alternatives.
Proton
Proton prioritizes privacy by offering encrypted services that advocate for a secure and private internet. You can get your own email address with this provider. Proton is the most security-centric email service on this list, with personal and business plans ranging from free to $10 per month and customizable options available. Additionally, it includes a suite of applications like Calendar, VPN, and Drive.
HEY
HEY aims to revolutionize the email experience, making it enjoyable. Their basic subscription starts at $99, with various pricing options available. You can obtain a new email address, but note that you cannot migrate your old address; however, you can set up a custom domain. HEY allows for email screening, enabling you to prioritize important messages and manage the rest efficiently. This app is my top recommendation for its collaboration features.
Spark
Spark Mail helps you take charge of your inbox, allowing you to see what matters instantly and efficiently discard the rest. It provides a unique feature that lets you select which email accounts appear in your unified inbox. With reminders for follow-ups and a decent free tier, the pro version costs $60 annually. Although their recent launch had some issues, they have since resolved many of these problems. If you prioritize speed and have a larger budget, this is an excellent choice.
Superhuman
Superhuman claims to be the fastest email experience globally. Priced at $30 per month, it facilitates batch processing and offers various keyboard shortcuts to achieve inbox zero. Its clean design and AI sorting capabilities make it ideal for those who value exclusivity.
Thunderbird
Thunderbird is an open-source option featuring numerous plugins for customization. Despite its outdated appearance, it lacks significant recommendations.
Airmail 3
Airmail is designed exclusively for Mac users, providing notifications even on your Apple Watch. Although it won an Apple Design Award in 2017, its features remain relatively standard compared to other applications.
Canary
Canary Mail adapts to your emailing habits, offering features like email writing assistance and spam filtering. It emphasizes security with a sleek interface.
Apple Mail
As the default email client for Macs, it suffices for most users.
Outlook
If you’re integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem, you may have encountered Outlook, though it’s not my personal favorite.
Edison
Edison Mail is recognized for its combination of multiple inboxes and has received the Google Play Android Excellence Award. It features AI to help sort your email efficiently.
Front
Front is a customer communication platform that enhances team collaboration with shared inboxes and CRM functions, starting at $19 per month.
Spike
Spike transforms email into a conversational format, making communication feel more natural. Its free version has limitations, with plans starting at $5 monthly.
Missive
Missive is designed for team collaboration, featuring extensive integrations and tools for managing various communication channels. The free version is limited, and full access costs around $18 monthly.
Rooftop
Rooftop provides shared inboxes and project management tools, aimed at improving email management beyond traditional solutions.
Polymail
Polymail offers a variety of automation features and integration options, with pricing ranging from $10 to $59.
I hope this compilation of email applications proves useful. Let me know which email client you prefer, and if you found this information helpful, consider subscribing.
