Exploring the Benefits of Contributing to NewsBreak

Chapter 1: My Journey with NewsBreak
After a week of engaging with NewsBreak, I’m eager to share my experiences and insights. I initially attempted to join as a contributor in the past but faced rejection. Recently, I decided to give it another shot, and so far, the experience has been positive.
As someone who has previously written press releases, I enjoy crafting compelling news stories, especially knowing that there are financial opportunities available. If I had pursued a degree in journalism or broadcasting, I would have loved to work for a news organization. However, with the rise of content creation platforms, becoming a freelance journalist has never been easier, which is exactly what I’m doing with NewsBreak.
I aim to cover stories that mainstream media often overlooks. I recently tried to submit a somewhat controversial piece, but it was not accepted. Although they requested that I label it as an opinion article, it remained “Under Review” indefinitely. Frustrated, I deleted it and opted to publish it on Medium instead. To ensure my success on the platform, I've conducted extensive research on effective writing strategies. Here’s what I discovered:
- The more you write, the more you can earn.
- Lengthier articles tend to perform better, with around 600 words being ideal.
- Incorporating multimedia elements like YouTube videos, Instagram and Twitter embeds, and quotes can enhance your stories.
- Consistency is crucial—keep creating content and don’t lose hope; followers will gradually come.
- Always strive to produce high-quality work.
- Observe successful writers for inspiration, not imitation.
- Utilize "Content Insights" to see trending stories.
- Publish frequently, aiming for several articles each day, as the minimum word count is just 250.
- Develop thematic content that resonates with your audience.
- Understand that predicting an article's success is nearly impossible.
- Reader feedback can be varied; it’s okay to overlook some comments.
- You don’t need to respond to every comment to find success.
- Simply writing can grow your following; social media sharing is not mandatory.
- A viral piece can emerge unexpectedly.
- Articles typically have a lifespan of about four days, but you can revive them by adding updates within two weeks of publication.
- As a creator, the potential for unlimited earnings exists.
- Being the first to break a story can significantly elevate your success.
